International Women's Day represents nearly a century of struggle for the equality of women around the world. This year for March 8, sisters in the PSAC are fighting back against the Conservative government’s agenda to cut jobs and eliminate deficit, and moving forward to ensure our rights for the future.

YWCA Canada’s Rose Campaign to end violence against women and girls takes its name from the rose button created after 14 young women were murdered on December 6, 1989 and commemorates December 6 as Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
On December 6, 1989, 14 women were murdered at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. They died because they were women. More than 20 years later, we still remember and honour them.
October 4th is the day we honour the lives of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls; on October 4th 2011 call on the federal government to stop ignoring this national crisis and take action.
