Urgent action for reproductive rights

The Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada has launched an important campaign against a Motion in the House of Commons that was tabled by a Conservative MP. This Motion calls for the creation of a Parliamentary Commission that would examine when a fetus becomes a “human being”.

The PSAC National Board of Directors is pleased to encourage and support active Regional Women’s Committees (RWC) throughout the country. As a focal point for mobilizing women members, the RWCs are essential to a strong union presence in the regions. They embody the spirit of grassroots organizing and membership participation.

Rose Campaign for violence against women

YWCA Canada’s Rose Campaign to end violence against women and girls takes its name from the rose button created after 14 young women were murdered on December 6, 1989 and commemorates December 6 as Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

On December 6, 1989, 14 women were murdered at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. They died because they were women. More than 20 years later, we still remember and honour them.
