Winnipeg RWC Mtg Minutes (Nov 18 2010)

1. Call to order – 5:35 pm

3. Adoption of Agenda – Accepted

4. Minutes from October 13, 2010- Accepted

5. RWC Treasurer’s Report- Balance forward – $3907.59

6. Old Business:
a) We received a Thank You letter from Niji Mahkwa School for the money we donated to the lunch program.

7. New Business:
a) Seasonal Celebration planning committee – Posters went out to the Locals. Valerie Garneau, Community Helper Team Leader at Ma Mawi Chi Itata Community Care Center, will speak at the Celebration on Dec 14.
Alisha has volunteered to make tags for the toiletries bags. We will pay for any supplies that she needs to complete the tags. We will have a planning meeting Dec 8 at the Winnipeg RO (5:00 pm). This is the night we will pack the bags and prepare for the Celebration.
Karon, will bring supplies for the punch and a punch bowl and Alisha will be making an ice ring. The food will be ordered from Food for Thought, with the same menu as last year.
On Dec 14 all volunteers should be at the Regional Office at 5:00, as the event is from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. RSVP need to be sent in by Dec.7th. Thanks in advance.

b) Posters and pamphlets from the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) & PSAC for December 6th National day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women have been mailed to Locals. Dawn and Gloria are attending the December 6th Luncheon for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. We purchased their tickets.
c) There has been a meeting called by Deborah Jamerson CLC Manitoba for planning of an International Women’s Day, March 8th, event in Winnipeg. The meeting will take place Friday, Nov. 26 at 1pm. Union Centre – 5th floor boardroom. The purpose for this meeting is to plan for the March 8, 2011, 100th Anniversary of the Celebration of IWD. If anyone is interested in attending please get in touch with Deanna.
