Westman Area Council – Draft Meeting Minutes – November 26, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

Attendees: Michael Weisgerber (Chair), Glen Johnston, Jennifer Grant, Tracy Thor (PSAC staff rep).

  1. Call to Order:    
    Br Weisgerber called the meeting to order at 5:10pm.
  2. PSAC Harassment Coordinator:
    Sr Thor appointed for the meeting.
  3.  Agenda
    Accepted as presented.  M- Br Johnston, Sr – Grant

  4.  Agenda          
    Presented (Oct 29, 2020) and approved as amended. M – Sr Grant, S – Br Johnston.
    Carried.

President’s Report:
  Br Weisgerber presented no real updates from the last meeting on Oct 29, 2020, one month previous.  Any updates on upcoming events to come as agenda points.  

Treasurer’s Report:
  Sr Grant reported the current balance is $634.40. 
  2 Expenditure and cheques issued;
  Presented by Sr Grant as Treasurer.

PRC Update:
  Br Johnston presented the latest notifications. 
  The PRC has not met since March 2020. 
   There is a virtual PRC meeting scheduled for December 8th and 9th.

Agenda Items:
  Elections. The elections were tabled and forwarded to the next meeting as there were no members in attendance desiring to be nominated for an open position.

  Secretary
  Position remains vacant.

5. Update – The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and United Way Christmas Tree Auction
  A) Women’s Resource Center donations were made in the amounts of $323.00 for items purchased and donated to their breakfast program and a $200.00 gift card to purchase additional required items.
  B) United Way Christmas Tree Auction deposit was paid in the amount of $125.00.Funding approved from the REVP office, $2500.00 cheque was mailed to the WMAC on Nov 20th.Sr Grant will purchase items for tree decorating and present for the sponsored family, items to be dropped off on Dec 3.More details still forthcoming on the virtual Tree Auction.

6. Priorities for WMAC
  UNDE Contracting In Campaign has commenced and WMAC will be requested to assist with some local actions in support of this campaign.

7. Points from the Floor
   Sr Hladun notified the council that information and education on a CLC Lobby campaign will be coming out next week.Education and information will be presented virtually with speaking sheets.Members will be requested to book appointments with their MP’s to speak on the topic.Sr Hladun requested members ensure to sign up when they receive the email.

Next meeting to be scheduled in the new calendar year.  Meeting format and coordinates to come out in meeting poster to be sent to all Westman area members.
