Tury Aljaqobi Bio

Tury Aljaqobi was elected to his first term as Racially Visible Representative at the 2026 PSAC Prairie Region Triennial Convention.

Tury holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from University of Winnipeg and a Computer Programming Diploma from Algonquin College. And has worked for five years as a Network Modernization Tech. In this capacity, he works to modernize network infrastructure across Parks Canada sites.  He currently serves on the National Incident Management team supporting our firefighters on the frontlines of our wildfires, as an IT tech support.

He began his work in the union through his activism in the community and soon took on a role in his Local. He has served as President of his Local and of the NCR region while living in Toronto but is currently serving as Vice-President of his Local.

He is excited to take on the new position with the Prairie Region Council and begin working with members across the region toward a more equitable, just and inclusive union.
