Tania Fikus Bio

Tania is serving her first term as Southern Alberta Geographical Rep on the Prairie Region Council (PRC). She previously served as the Young Workers Rep on the PRC.
She works for Employment and Social Development Canada where she can be seen day to day, interpreting legislation facilitating training for staff, and participating in working groups with external partners.
Tania credits a union sister for inviting her to a Dragon Boat race in 2017 which was the beginning of her involvement in conferences, training, and more. She is President of her Local and serves in her component as the Regional Women’s Chair, Alternate Young Workers Chair as well as various positions on committees for PSAC and her component. Tania also is a graduate of the PSAC Union Leadership Development Program in 2024.
Tania also has two young sons, Jackson and Archer who is her pride and joy and many have met in her union journey.
When she’s not at a union event or meeting, Tania enjoys being outside. She enjoys gardening, hitting the lake and connecting with nature. She is also a huge animal lover with cats, dogs and bunnies at home.
Tania is honoured to serve the members of Southern Alberta and is looking forward to making meaningful connections over this term.
