Seeking Expressions of Interest for representatives for Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (SFL) Committees

 Dear Friends: 

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for representatives for the following Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (SFL) Committees for a one-year term until the 2022 SFL Convention: 

• Indigenous 
• Occupational Health and Safety/Workers’ Compensation 
• Solidarity & Pride 
• Women’s 
• Workers of Colour 
• Workers with Disabilities 
• Young Workers (must be 29 years of age or younger) 
• Apprenticeship 
• Education 
• Environment 
• Pensions and Benefits 

Information regarding the committees including Terms of Reference can be found here. Members interested should review the SFL Committee Handbook and specific terms of reference for the committee of interest. 

To be considered for the equity committees or young workers committee, members must self-identify. 

For the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, members should have a solid understanding of health and safety including provincial legislation and workers compensation. 

Members selected to represent PSAC on these committees should have knowledge and experience of both provincial and federal politics. Members should also have experience working within the union and/or community organizations where applicable.

Funding is available from the national PSAC budget for members’ participation on Federation of Labour Committees. Representatives will be required to provide written reports following each committee meeting before any expenses will be reimbursed. Committee representatives are not funded for conventions, conferences or other events.
