November 28th is the National Day of Action.  It’s a day where we expect to have members plan activities aimed at encouraging Treasury Board to get back to the bargaining table with a fair and comprehensive offer.  Theme : “Where’s Mona?” – in order to educate all of our members not only about who is responsible for the Treasury Board mandate but to put pressure on Mona Fortier, the Treasury Board President who we feel is abdicating her responsibility. There will be a National Virtual Event 5 pm-6:30 pm MST – hosted by the PSAC National President Chris Aylward and National Executive Vice President Sharon DeSousa.  The virtual event will serve as a member “Speak out” where members from across the country will share their stories on what they would say to Mona if they found her (i.e. what impact this mandate has on them in their everyday lives). We are also looking at having events in the Regions during the day: Everything is still in the planning stages but we are looking at several different options which may include lunch and learns, a poster that members can drop in to the Regional Office to sign (or we could even stop by your workplace with it), a fun photo campaign where we may ask you to send a picture of yourself or members of your Local “looking for Mona”, or a host of other ideas that Locals, Committees and Councils may want to come up with. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link to the national Day of Action one day before the event.

We will also be holding a National Call Bank and Text Day where members will be able to call and text other members to provide them with a bargaining update and confirm their contact information.  Training will be provided.  If you are interested, here is the link: . If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact the Calgary Regional Office. More information will come out in the next 2 weeks on specific Regional Office activities, and if your Local is planning on something, please let us know.

The Calgary Regional Office will be reaching out to each Local individually to hear your ideas regarding November 28th.
