Michelle. - Statement on Harassment: Michelle read the Statement on Harassment.
- Round of Introductions
- Financial Reports: Daniela presented the financial reports: The Opening Balance at the beginning
of the year was $719.02. The account is showing an increase of $690.05 since September 30, 2024. As
Tim explained, this is to cover the cost of the orange shirts for the National Day of Truth and
Reconciliation event. This amount will be paid to the Saskatoon-based vendor. Motion to accept the
Financial Report as presented was moved by Daniela and seconded by Robinson. - Old Business: None.
- New Business:
- Tim provided an update on the holiday dinner for Lulu’s Lodge. After discussion with the
organization, the event will be scheduled for after the holidays, in mid-January to early February.
This timing will likely change the menu from a traditional Christmas dinner but Tim explained the
decision will ultimately be up to the committee. - Tim opened the floor to ideas for events to organize in 2025. In the past, the committee has done
events for Pride, Orange Shirt Day and the Lulu’s Lodge holiday dinner. Rachel suggested a clothing
drive or other events that could benefit Hope’s Home. Tim said he would also like to see events for
organizations that specifically serve the equity deserving communities represented on the committee
and in its mandate. - The committee’s Annual General Meeting will be scheduled for mid-January to early
February. Tim will send a poll to the committee to finalize the date. - Tim said to watch for an invitation that’s coming out in the next few days for a webinar on
Tuesday December 10, International Human Rights Day, on the Challenges and Triumphs of the Trans
Community. Registration is open to anyone, even those outside the PSAC.
9. Round Table:
- Keith provided an update on behalf of the Southern Saskatchewan Regional Office. He reminded
attendees that the Winter Education Schedule is out now. - Tim asked attendees to remember the ongoing Canada Post strike. Michelle said the Canadian Union
of Postal Workers are picketing from 8:00am to 6:00pm and have requested several items including
hand and feet warmers, gift cards for propane, hot drinks, etc. - Tim wished everyone safe and happy holidays.
Adjournment: A motion to adjourn the meeting was moved by Jessica. The meeting was adjourned at 7:17pm.
