  1. Call to order 7: 05 PM

  3. Harassment Statement. Tim Hubick read the Harassment Statement
  4. Housekeeping. As per the RAC bylaws:
    I. Section 4: Sub-Section 2 Each Local or Branch of a Component and each DCL shall be entitled to
    two (2) delegates for the first 500 members and one additional delegate for each additional 500
    members or part thereof. Each constitutionally-recognized regional committee shall be entitled to
    one (1) delegate. Voting rights at Area Council meetings shall be vested in the elected/selected
    delegates from the Locals or Branches of Components, DCLs, and constitutionally-recognized regional
    committees and the elected officers of the Area Council.
    II. Section 8: Sub-Section 2 A minimum of 3 members which includes a minimum of 2 executive
    members shall constitute quorum

  5. Financial Statement. Presented by Tim. As of this day 2024 the Regina Area Council has
    $1576.72. Motion to accept Dani’s financial report moved by Erin and second by Angie. Motion was
    carried.
  6. Round of introductions.
  7. Old Business. Motion to have Chauncey Lansberry, Tim Hubick, John Wilkinson and Eric McCrimmon
    to get reimbursed for the cost of wreath-laying ceremony purchases during the last Labour Day
    event. Moved by Eric and second by Jessica. Motion carried
    Motion
    I moved that Reina Area Council reimburse PSAC members Eric McCrimmon for the North Portal, Tim
    Hubick for Regina, Chauncey Lansberry for Swift Current, John Wilkinson for Moose Jaw for the
    purchase of Remembrance Day wreaths as approved at the October 30th meeting.
  8. New Business. planning for 2025:

    II. Volunteering work
    III. Remembrance Day wreath
    IV. Christmas Diner
    V. Envelope stuffing
    VI. Fun Day event
    VII. Political actions
    VIII. Emergency request in support of CUPW striking members on the picket line was suggested.
    IX. Engagement activities.
  • It was suggested that the Area Council run a survey with members in the region to ascertain
    issues they want the Area Council to tackle. How do we engage members? How do we get them out to be
    active participants? Topics that came up at the change makers event, such as homelessness,
    interpersonal violence, education, environment, child care to start the conversation and go further
    to ask member what they want that we as Council members build upon. These could be questions the
    survey will be attempting to answer.
  • It was suggested that for future years, could we put $500 to $1000 on the budget in anticipation
    of supporting labor actions
    X. Motion from PSAC Regina area Council to purchase Co-op gift cards to support striking CUPW
    workers on the picket line was moved by Angie and second by Lia. Motion was carried.
    Details of motion are as follow:
  • $50 Yorkton, $50 Estevan, $50 Weyburn, $50 Assinboia, $50 Swift Current, $50 Moose Jaw, $100
    Regina. As Regina is the largest we thought $100.00 for a total of $400.00
  • A PSAC member in each city will purchase the gift card to be delivered to the picket line to
    show solidarity.

    for indigenous members in-person in Prince Albert, March 29- 30, 2025.
