Annual General Meeting Minutes
March 25, 2015

In attendance:

Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm.

Attendees signed an attendance sheet put on circulation and a round table of introductions was completed.

Adoption of Agenda:

M/S/C    Dan/Alan        That the agenda be adopted as presented.

Adoption of February 5, 2014 AGM Minutes:

M/S/C    Mark/Dan        That the minutes for the 2014 AGM be adopted as presented.

Report of Chair:

Sister Melissa presented her report on 2014 activities (attached).

M/S/C    Melissa/Dan        To accept the report of the Chair as presented.

Report of PRC Area Council Representative:

No report received and PRC Area Council Representative (Satinder Bains) not in attendance.

2014 Financial Review:

M/S/C    Dan/Larry    That Sister Melissa be reimbursed the cost of meal expenses in the amount of $21.28.

Brother Dan reported that the bank balance was $1,499.78 on February 1 and also presented the report of the Audit Committee.  The audit was completed by two members of L40721.  It was noted there was no receipt for the donation provided to the Unions of Regina Christmas dinner.  This is because receipts are not sent out by the Regina and District Labour Council; instead, they acknowledge the amount of the previous year donation when they send each organization the callout letter for the next year.

M/S/C    Dan/Alan        To accept the report of the committee as received.

The proposed budget for the 2015 year was reviewed and discussed.  It was agreed to move the amount designated for the Labour Day Picnic from under donations to projects and events.

M/S/C    Larry/Tim        To accept the 2015 budget as amended.

Election of Area Council Officers:

Sister Diane Allan opened the floor and called for nominations election of officers.

Chair – Sister Melissa

Vice-Chair – Brother Mark

Secretary – Brother Larry

Treasurer – Brother Dan

Following completion of the elections Sister Allan administered the oath of office.

Other Discussion:

A letter regarding Resolution NEGO-070 on the Social Justice Fund was received from the PSAC National President.  The resolution has been referred to the Social Justice Fund.

The upcoming PSAC convention was discussed.  There will be a balanced budget tabeled however it will include several special levies to bring the pension fund back into solvency.  There are also rumors circulating that there will be a proposal to access the strike fund to cover the costs of mobilization.  The budget also reflects a reduction in the operating budget of 10%.
