Business arising from previous Minutes

Bargaining Update – Bargaining is going on this week (week of September 20, 2021) so there will be an update at the nest meeting.

PSAC ConventionChristine and Dawn attended (on behalf of their components) and Joyce attended on behalf of PAAC.

There was a Resolution passed regarded the Area Council seat from Prairie Regional Committee.

The seat is no longer by councils, it is now by geographic reps. It was suggested but not passed, that terms be only 2 terms long. 

Marianne is still the REVP

There is a report regarding the convention on the PSAC Prairie Wesbsite

New Business – We need to hold a meeting before November 28, 2021, to elect a delegate and observer for the TRI Annual Convention.

Round Table  – Louse spoke of the fall schedule for virtual training through PSAC. TUB course, Local Officers Advanced Training and New Member Orientation are all upcoming courses.

Dawn attendee her first PRC Meeting and is now on the Bylaw and Finance Committees.

Regional Indigenous People’s Circle are offering an Elder’s presentation on September 30th for the Truth and Reconciliation awareness, education and celebration that we finally have this day.  If you want to show your support, Louise will provide further information.

September 30th is now designated as National Day of Recognition – it’s one of the steps to acknowledgment of the 94 Calls to Action.

T-Shirts are available for purchase through the Prince Albert Metis Friendship Centre.

Regional Operations received an email invite to an online celebration for Orange Shirt Day.  FNIHB did not receive an invite.

Louise informed the council of the passing of a former PSAC rep and advocate, Frank McGreggor, who passed away. His service will be held at Memorial Gardens, Prince Albert at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 for those that wish to attend.  It is outside, however, please remember the COVID restrictions and practice safe distancing, and masks are required.

Joyce suggested the council purchase a wreath for Remembrance Day. Everyone was in agreement.  Joyce will look into the costs and sizes. Purchases are made through the local Legion.

Christina is moving to Regina, but will be doing telework for her position in Prince Albert, until future notice.
