The Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee invites you to its meeting on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 7:00 pm by Zoom. This meeting is open to all PSAC members in good standing in the Winnipeg area who identify as a woman.

8. Recap of past events.
- Teresa, Kristin and Cristina attended the PSAC Meet & Greet at the Old Spaghetti Factory on September 17, 2025. It was a great opportunity to speak casually with REVP Marianne Hladun and meet other PSAC members.
B. Recap on the 3 day “Building Solidarity with Indigenous Communities” course held at the PSAC office (September 19-21, 2025) attended by Teresa and Cristina.
Feedback from Teresa, Cristina and Dana Whitehill (UTE 50021). This was an awesome course which we highly recommend you sign up for.
B. The Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee donated 180 pairs of socks to the Main Street Projects Socktober campaign.
C. The Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee donated treats to the North Point Douglas Women’s Resource Centre. Teresa volunteered with the Mama Bear Clan on Halloween distributing sandwiches, water/juice and treats to 90+ people in the community
9. The following are upcoming PSAC courses.
-Human Rights Mini Workshop, December 6 & 7 (deadline to register is November 14)
After the registration deadline, names will be placed on a waitlist for the course.
10. Menopause Cafe
The South Winnipeg Family Information Centre is a United Way funded non profit that offers many drop in programs (ie: Dress for Success…) including a Menopause Cafe.
Carla facilitates the Menopause Cafe in an informal manner. While not an expert she has learned a great deal while facilitating these sessions. She is open to questions and welcomes general discussion. The Cafe can be done over Zoom and would be approximately 2 hours. The honorarium is $50.

11. The Prairie Regional Triennial Convention will be held in Calgary June 5-7, 2026.
The official Convention Call has not been issued yet.
Important dates:
Resolutions are due by 6pm central time on January 23, 2026.
Deadline for Delegate and Observer Registration is February 27, 2026.
Nominations for REVP, Alternate REVP & all Prairie Region Council positions open on April 6, 2026.
The Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee will be entitled to elect 1 delegate.
We will be electing 1 person to attend the Triennial Convention at this meeting.
12. The Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee will be preparing their 2026 budget soon.
-Looking for suggestions on what you would like the Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee to participate in or advocate for in 2026.
-Any donation to an organization must be accompanied by an action (ie: volunteering)
-Teresa would like to see the cost for a Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build included in the budget. Teresa has inquired about the projected cost for the Womens Build in 2026 and is waiting to hear back.
13. Upcoming events
– The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence will run from November 25 to December 10, 2025. Reminder to check out the PSAC Winnipeg Regional Women’s Committee Facebook age as Mona Simcoe and Anju have volunteered to submit daily posts to raise awareness.
- Teresa and Kristin will be attending the National Women’s Conference in Toronto (November 20-23).
- The WRWC allocated in their 2025 budget $200.00 to go towards the North Point Douglas Women’s Resource Centre Christmas Hamper. Recommend this amount be increased for 2026.
- The WRWC also allocated $200 for feminine hygiene products for the Mama Bear Clan.
