Edmonton Regional Women’s Committee Event Notice

This event is to honour the 14 women murdered at École Polytechnique in 1989, and to stand in solidarity against gender-based violence in all its forms.

Event details:

• Elder Opening
• Guest Speaker – Verna Fisher with Institute for the advancement of aboriginal women esquao
• Guest Speaker – Elizabeth Arsenault PSAC member from RCMP Stores.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

We are asking members to bring a donation for an Edmonton Women’s Shelter. The following is a list of suggested items for donation and would be appreciated:

• Toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, menstrual products
• Clothing: new underwear, socks, pajamas, comfortable everyday clothing, new bras (all sizes), winter coats, boots.
• Baby & Child Needs: diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, formula, bottles, baby clothes, small toys, books.
