We are pleased to invite you to apply to attend the PSAC Prairies Regional Health and Safety Conference, happening from November 20-22, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta. This year’s theme focuses on the vital role of health and safety committee members in identifying and resolving hazards, “as well and strategizing” when challenges occur.

This conference is an opportunity to reflect, recharge, and reimagine how we can support ourselves and each other. Together, we’ll delve into ways to advocate for safer workplaces for all.

All PSAC activists and advocates that have a role in H&S in the Prairie Region are encouraged to apply!

If you are involved in health and safety in the Prairies and would like to assist the Regional Health and Safety Committee in improving health and safety in our workplace, this conference is for you!

Let’s come together to celebrate and strengthen our H&S advocates.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Speakers: Inspiring voices discussing the importance of H&S and the role of committee members
  • Workshops: Engage in sessions building off current and relevant health and safety issues.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals across the region committed to creating a safer work environment.

THIS CONFERENCE IS DESIGNED FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY WHO:

  • Want to improve working conditions
  • Will actively engage in advocating, lobbying and working improvements to health and safety
  • Will engage in conversations with PSAC members to advocate for ensuring workplaces are healthy in all aspects

SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS:

Allocations will honour our goal of an inclusive event that is reflective of our diverse membership, including Components, Directly Chartered Locals, Regionally Based Separate Employer Locals, Equity, and Young Workers.

Priority in the selection process will be given to those that have demonstrated a commitment to their workplace’s health and safety advocacy. We will contact your component to ensure those selected will be in a position to share and apply their learnings in the workplace.

National Officers are encouraged to apply to attend. Any National Officers selected to attend will be expected to be reimbursed all costs with attending by their component. PSAC regional funding for this convention will be limited to those that that are active in the workplace in resolving health and safety hazards.

TRAVEL & EXPENSES:

PSAC Prairies will provide travel, accommodation, meal and incidental allowances, loss of salary, and reimbursement of family care costs in accordance with the PSAC Travel and Family Care policies.

Travel arrangements will be in accordance with the PSAC Travel Policy. Approved participants will be contacted individually regarding travel arrangements.

Approved participants in travel status will have a room reserved
