Report of the Alternate REVP to the Prairie Region Council submitted for the October 2013 meeting. This report covers the period from the last PRC meeting.
Deborah Ferguson
Alternate REVP
Prairie Region Council October 2013
Last year on September 13, 2012 I was notified that I was successful in the election to become the Alternate Regional Executive Vice President for the Prairies.
Since that time, I have attended two Prairie Region meetings with the third meeting being scheduled to be in Winnipeg, October 17-19, 2013.
During this term, I attended a bylaw committee meeting scheduled for April 18, 2013.
Last term, it was determined that in order to keep the PRC members informed, we would hold monthly teleconference calls. I am proud to say that, to date, I have been able to attend every call.
I have also been able to attend, I believe, every Edmonton Area Council meeting and Edmonton Women’s committee meetings.
On September 5, 2013, I attended the Edmonton PSAC Regional Office for the meet and greet meeting that was scheduled with our National PSAC President, Robyn Benson, as well as our Prairies Regional Executive Vice President, Marianne Hladun. On September 8, 2013 I was invited to attend Local 30150 Solidarity BBQ as Alternate REVP, which I happily accepted and attended.
During this term, I was able to attend the leadership meeting that addressed the one on one conversation with our members. I have also made personal contact with the MP from my riding to have conversation about the labor movement and his stance on it.
I am scheduled to attend the Equity conference the week of November 18 – 22, 2013.
Please contact the undersigned with any questions you may have about this report.
In Solidarity,
Deborah Ferguson
