Calgary Human Rights Committee Meeting Invitation (Dec. 14, 2021)

December 10 marks the internationally recognized Human Rights Day. Human Rights Day was formally adopted by the United Nations in 1948 with the fundamental sentiment that every individual is entitled to inalienable rights regardless of their race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other option, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

The Calgary Area Human Rights Committee considers December 10 to be one of the most important days of the year because of what the meaning of it embodies.  This year, the theme for International Human Rights Day is Equality: Reducing Inequity and Advancing Human Rights. This year, the Calgary Area Human Rights Committee is asking you what equality means to you!

Add another layer by telling us how you think PSAC can advocate further for the advancement of equality and human rights. Let us know by sending us a message at calgaryhrc@gmail.com by December 10 so we can compile our members thoughts for our meeting on December 14… and if you’re free that evening and a member of an equity seeking group, please join us for our upcoming meeting.
