The final day of Convention began with anticipation and excitement as delegates gathered on the Convention floor to elect the Prairie Region’s next Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP). Krysty Thomas was acclaimed as the REVP, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the region as members look ahead to the coming term.

Convention guests, delegates, and observers also raised over $3700 for Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids, a non-profit organization that provides nutritious school lunches to kids facing food insecurity in Calgary.




Alex Creamer was elected as the Alternate Regional Executive Vice-President. The Prairie Region Council also welcomed newly elected 2SLGBTQIA+ Representative, Jo Hildebrand. The full list of Prairie Region Council members and alternates is available here, contact information will be posted soon.

As outgoing REVP Marianne Hladun begins her retirement, delegates and observers on the Convention floor honoured her contributions and thanked her for her many years of advocacy on behalf of the Prairie members.

Elder Gerald Sitting Eagle, Piitaopi, rejoined the Convention for the Closing Ceremony, wishing everyone safe travels and memorable experiences from the lands of Treaty 7.
All elected Representatives and Alternates took the oath of office, led by PSAC National President Sharon DeSousa, committing to serve in the best interests of the Prairie Region and its members.
On Saturday night, the Prairie Voice Award winners were announced at the Prairie social.
