There are more than 600 known cases of missing or murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada; a group that makes up less than 2 per cent of the Canadian population. If compared to the rest of the population their death and disappearance rate would be equivalent to over 18,000 Canadian women and girls missing or murdered in the past thirty years (Source: Native Women’s Association of Canada, 2012)

Sponsored in part by Native Women’s Association of Canada, Amnesty International, UFCW Canada, PSAC Prairie Region, PSAC’s National Aboriginal Peoples’ Circle, and others.
