Meet your Reps!

LGBTQ2S+ Persons Representative

Hello! My name is Steve Sukhbir, and I am proud to be your LGBTQ2S+ Persons Representative. As a racialized, LGBTQ2S+ employee, involved with the union for over 12 years, I would like to promote and highlight issues we face; promote training and education, increase our voices and visibility and to foster a greater unity with our union members, supporters and our allies to empower our diverse membership. I would like to hear about our many issues we face every day in the workplace to enact change where it is needed and to bring these issues  forward. I am encouraging workers both young and experienced to have a discussion, attend a meeting or simply send an email to start the conversations.

Racially Visible Representative

Hi everyone! My name is Kathy Ajram and I am so proud to be your Racially Visible Representative. I reside on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary, Alberta. I encourage those who identify as racialized members to self-identify and get involved in your union. We may all face common issues in our work, social, psychological, and emotional challenges, but our experiences cannot be fixed with a one-size-fits-all solution. Our challenges are distinctly unique within our individual communities and the only way we can find solutions and gain perspective is to hear and learn from you! Please accept my invitation to join the Prairies Racially Visible network, so we can learn from each other and make the future more inclusive.

Regional Women’s Committee Representative

Oki! My name is Sherry Hunt and I live on Treaty 7 Territory. I am the Regional Women’s Committee Representative to the Prairies Regional Council. The PSAC Regional Women’s Committees connect PSAC women to our union, our communities and maybe most importantly, to each other. Our work fosters and supports women’s leadership and empowerment in the Region. Contributing to the PSAC’s work on priorities including child care, pay equity and the elimination of gendered violence, the women’s committees are an avenue for women to explore their power, create change and build lasting circles of peer support and friendship.  I invite all PSAC women to join the committee in their area.

Young Workers Representative

Hello! I am Alex Creamer, your Young Workers’ Representative on the Prairies Regional Council. I encourage all Young Workers, aged 35 and under, to self-identify and begin networking and engaging with others in the union. Young Workers are the future of the union and the workplace. To this end, it is important we work together to ensure our unique needs are addressed in both the union and workplaces. I hope to strengthen the network of Young Workers to help each other establish and achieve shared goals in the public service, union, and workplace. Together, we can help move the union forward and make our workplaces better.
