The 2nd PanCanadian Young Feminist Gathering will be held from May 20 23, 2011 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and PSAC Prairie Region is offering a fullyfunded subsidy to one Sister from our region.
This gathering is a followup to the highly successful first gathering which hosted over 500 young feminists in Montréal in October, 2008. For three days, young feminists gathered to share experiences, stories and analysis and returned to their regions with a strong foundation for a young feminist movement.
The 2nd gathering will once again welcome hundreds of young feminists between the ages of 14 and 35. The gathering will provide the opportunity to learn about feminism, share reflections and analysis of different issues that affect young women, and share struggles and discuss strategies to resist and combat patriarchy and other forms of oppression.
As PSAC Prairie Region is fully funding one Sister from our region to attend this event, applicants must complete the attached application. Please provide a brief history of your involvement in the women’s movement, why this event would be important for you to attend and describe how you will ensure other women are able to share this experience. Applications must be received by the office of the REVP by April 4, 2011.
