We will be hosting two webinars on sick leave and collective bargaining for members who live outside the regional office areas or were unable to attend one of the multi-local meetings held across the region in May and June. All members from all employers are invited to attend and provide feedback in the ongoing fight back and share ideas for what we can do together to combat concessions and cuts to public services.
In the next video from the award-winning Prairies Video Project, members share stories about the fight for maternity leave/family leave in the 1980 CR strike and how their victory has since benefitted countless families.Sandra Clarke, PSAC/UTE member since 1969, was on the line for that strike. In the video she recalls what it was like before the union sisters fought for leave provisions.
PSAC is calling on our members to boycott National Public Service Week for the third year. It’s important that we do not participate in events that claim to “honour” workers while simultaneously slashing jobs and forcing us into bargaining.
The PSAC's newly elected bargaining teams for the PA, FB, TC, SV and EB groups will be meeting in Ottawa from July 7th to July 11th for the start of negotiations with Treasury Board. PSAC previously received notices to bargain for these groups. The bargaining teams are united in their resolve to defend public services and the working conditions of those who provide them. Stay tuned for more information.
CFIA contract: Last opportunity to attend an information session before the vote ends. The introduction, video and Team Member presentation takes about 20 minutes then you can disconnect and vote or stay tuned for the Q&A session that follows.
Did you receive an email notice recently promoting the Workplace Wellness and Productivity Strategy for federal government employees? This notice promoted a new employer strategy for managing sick leave and long-term disability across the federal public service, but it failed to mention one very important fact: this new strategy has not been negotiated with your union.
