Meeting with representatives of 14 villages in Tada Mandal District. They gathered in an open space under awnings to welcome the delegation, present their reports and highlight their needs. Pics7-9: Karijatha Village by the roadside and away from the ocean. Transportation of goods is easier given the proximity to the road. They are in the process of building permanent one room houses on the land given by the government. Photos from India

There is no school for the children and the younger ones do not go to school due distance of the nearest school. Also, due to proximity to the ocean, the drinking water supply is polluted with salt water, and they have to purchase water.

Pics 19-20: Bangareddipalli Village. A troupe of dancers and performers from nearby villages performed popular theatre to raise awareness of issues such as dowry, feudal landlord, alcoholism, family violence, dalit rights and union solidarity. Photos from India

Pics21-22: Ananta Puram Village. This village was literally consturcted within 48 hours. Sahanivasa, a women's NGO and APVVU organized and mobilized workers from several villages to construct the houses within 36 hours to provide evidence at a court case as to the existence of the village.
