Regional Activist Schools prepare members for largest fightback ever

Last month, regional offices throughout the Prairies held Activist Schools for PSAC members who are active in their union, eager to build workplace power and interested in doing political and social activism work.

Dozens of activists participated in the training aimed at giving activists the tools and skills they need to support political and social activism, as well as prepare them to have meaningful, effective and motivating conversations with co-workers.

“The next 12 months will be critical for our union, the broader labour movement, and all Canadians who want a democratic and responsible government,” said Marianne Hladun, Regional Executive Vice-President for the PSAC Prairie Region. “The Activist Schools brought together members already politically engaged to prepare them for the fight of our lives in the months ahead.”

In the coming months, participants will engage other members and build collective power by organizing workplace events. They will also promote the interests of PSAC members with other community activists and elected political representatives at all levels of government.
